About us
Meet Christian & Vicks
We’re originally from Crawley in West Sussex, where we both had busy jobs and lives! Christian lived for many years on a boat in Brighton Marina with Turkish the dog, his constant companion. He’s worked all over the world in the events industry, and has visited over 50 countries in six continents to date! He’s a keen hiker and has even made it to Everest Base Camp, as well as completing the Inca trail. Since moving to Scotland, he’s discovered a love of mowing, and has swapped his boat for a tractor!
Vicks is a big animal lover and has a background in PR and Marketing. She’s spent many years working for an international wildlife charity, where a career highlight was being part of a team who transported two former circus lions from Bulgaria to a sanctuary in South Africa. Vicks is also an enthusiastic buyer and seller of antiques, and worked behind the bar of her local pub for 23 years!
Owning goats has been a lifetime ambition for both of us – Bert, Earnie, Rupert and Jasper look forward to meeting you!
Why Little Croft?
Christian and Vicks are relatively new to the highlands, having moved up in June 2021. A major life change, sparked by a hastily-booked road trip during the COVID-19 pandemic...
We hired a van, and along with Turkish the dog, set off to explore the NC500. Not having been north of Glasgow, we weren’t sure what to expect, but were absolutely blown away by the peace, tranquillity, stunning landscapes and hospitality Caithness had to offer. So much so, that we never even completed the NC500! We didn’t want to go home… so we didn’t.
We found the perfect spot in Scarfskerry – the UK mainland’s most northerly settlement, and shortly afterwards, Little Croft became our home.
Our rural location by the coast means Little Croft is an ideal spot for people looking for something off the beaten track… but there’s also plenty to do on our doorstep, from coastal walks and cliff jumps (eek!), wild swims, stunning sunsets, aurora borealis (if you're lucky), bird watching, or even just chilling out with the goats! We are also just a short drive from beautiful Dunnet Bay, the Castle of Mey, John O’Groats, and the ferry terminal to get to the Orkneys. We really love it here and hope you will too!
Having spent many months getting our little campsite in the far north ready to welcome guests, we are both really looking forward to welcoming you to Little Croft soon!
